On a historic evening at Ikegami Honmonji Temple in Tokyo's Ota ward, a momentous occasion was underway. The first-ever "Setsubun Tsuinashiki Ceremony" was being held, an event in which the father of Japanese professional wrestling, Rikidozan, is laid to rest. But this night was about more than just paying tribute to the past; it was about the future of professional wrestling in Japan, particularly for the women's division.
The current World Champion of Stardom, Giulia, was in attendance, making her debut in this momentous event. And she had her sights set on greatness. Encouraged by the words of the former NOAH Ironman, Kenta Kobashi, Giulia was looking to scale new heights in her career.
Kobashi, reflecting on Giulia's victory over Syuri at the Ryogoku show on December 29th of last year, was impressed by the young wrestler's tenacity. He noted how dangerous it was for Giulia to throw Syuri from the runway to the audience, and how it required an immense amount of determination to execute. In fact, he even went so far as to predict that Giulia could be in the running for the Women's Pro Wrestling Best Bout Award, a historic achievement that has never been won by a female wrestler.
It was a bold claim from the Ironman, who is no stranger to accolades himself, having won the award eight times in the past. But his faith in Giulia's abilities was not misplaced. She had already shown her mettle in the ring, and her unique style had won her praise from fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
For Kobashi, wrestling was always about conveying pain and emotion, about taking risks and pushing oneself to the limit. It was this spirit of determination that he saw in Giulia, and it was what made her stand out from the rest.
On this night, Giulia was standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest names in professional wrestling, including GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya from NOAH and Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Kento Miyahara from All Japan Pro Wrestling. And it was clear that she was no longer content with just leading Stardom; she wanted to lead the entire industry with an iron heart.
But that wasn't all. Inspired by the Ironman himself, Giulia was also looking to take her training to the next level. She joked about doing special exercises like lifting dumbbells in the sauna, pushing the boundaries and challenging the norms of what it meant to be a female wrestler.
In the end, it was clear that Giulia was a force to be reckoned with. With her unique style and her unbridled determination, she was poised to make history in a sport that has long been dominated by men. And with the support of legends like Kobashi, she was sure to make her mark on the industry for years to come.
