Giulia and Saya Reunite: World Champion Wrestler Emotionally Recalls Memories with Former Partner

Written by: Jessi B

Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up, as we're about to witness one of the most emotional moments in women's professional wrestling. The World Champion of Stardom, the 28-year-old Giulia, had a reunion with her former partner, Tequila Saya, that left fans in tears.

The two former tag-team partners were part of the Ice Ribbon era, where they were known as the "Burning Low" duo and went on to become the International Ribbon Tag champions. However, in October of 2019, Giulia made her mark on Stardom with a surprising debut at the Korakuen Hall tournament.

Saya was scheduled to retire from the ring two days before the event, but a typhoon canceled the tournament and postponed her farewell match until the end of the year on December 31st. Despite reaching out to Saya, Giulia's messages went unanswered, causing a rift between the two.

But when the two former partners finally came face-to-face backstage at the Osaka tournament on the fourth, Giulia couldn't hold back her emotions and broke down in tears, saying, "Thank you for coming. I don't know what to say." Saya comforted her with a hug and said, "I'm glad we finally got to see each other."

Saya, a certified tequila sommelier, and former bar owner, then invited Giulia for a drink. Giulia, eager to catch up, said, "Of course!" But Saya stunned everyone by saying, "I quit drinking, so let's have an afternoon tea instead."

Giulia went on to say, "One of the things I regret about leaving Ice Ribbon was Suzu, and the other was Tequila Saya. When she came to see me, it reminded me of when we were three sisters wrestling together. I always believed that if I worked hard enough, I would be able to see them again someday. That's why I couldn't stop crying when we finally saw each other."

What a day it was for Giulia, as she not only successfully defended her championship title but also made amends with a former ally. This emotional reunion between Giulia and Saya will go down as one of the most heartwarming moments in women's professional wrestling.
