Professional wrestling fans, get ready for some heartbreaking news. Our beloved Jungle Kyona (31) has announced that she will be taking an indefinite leave of absence due to left knee meniscus re-surgery and treatment. cue the sad music
Kyona, who was set to take on Sumire Natsu, Na Kudari, Maya Yukihi, and Miyuki Takase in "NOMADS, vol.3" on April 14th at the Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, held a press conference to announce her decision. She began by stating that she had a report to make about her future activities. gasp
Then, she dropped the bombshell, "In order to investigate the cause of the after-effects of the surgical procedure and to receive treatment, I would like to have my final match on March 5th at the Zero One Korakuen Hall event and on April 14th at the NOMADS Shinjuku Face event." tear falls down face
Kyona has been missing in action since October 2020 due to injuries to her left knee and other parts of her body. However, she returned to the ring in September of last year and went to the United States. At the NOAH Yokohama Arena event on January 22nd of this year, which was Great Muta's last match, Kyona won her first match in Japan in about two years and four months. cheers
After the match, she called for the establishment of the GHC women's championship, which received a significant response. We all know Kyona is a force to be reckoned with in the ring, but it looks like her body needs a little rest and recovery time.
Kyona explained, "The after-effects of the surgery have been severe and have affected my daily life. When I exert force, I experience intense pain, and as a result, I am in a state where I cannot build more than 20% of my muscle strength." ouch
Reflecting on her state of mind, she said, "I might have been able to do more if I pushed myself. However, going to the hospital every day for treatment without knowing the cause or seeing any progress was taking a toll on my mental health." we support you, Kyona!
Despite not fully recovering from her knee injury, Kyona continued to compete in the US last year by compensating for the strain on her knee with her muscle strength. We know she's a warrior, but even warriors need to rest sometimes.
Kyona's decision to continue her career was a difficult one, and she feels inadequate. But, she made it clear that she will not retire as she still desires to return to the ring, believing in the eventual improvement of her knee condition. we believe in you too, Kyona!
Before taking her hiatus, Kyona wanted to have a final match against some worthy opponents. With a smile, she asked, "Can I mention the players I want to fight against in my final match?" She named Rina Yamashita, Nanae Takahashi, Aya Mizunami, and Hiroyo Matsumoto as her desired opponents. who else is excited to see these matches?
Furthermore, Kyona announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign before her indefinite hiatus. "Upon hearing the words from fans that expressed gratitude, I made the decision to take on this challenge. I would like to allocate the entire amount received from your support towards future expenses for my meniscus removal surgery and subsequent treatment for any aftereffects," she humbly expressed while bowing her head.
"There are still many things I want to accomplish and promises I need to keep. I definitely hope to return to the ring again."
As a fan of Jungle Kyona, I can't help but feel a sense of sadness and disappointment at the news of her hiatus. However, I'm also filled with a sense of hope and optimism for her eventual return.
Kyona has always been one of the most exciting and dynamic wrestlers in the industry, and I have no doubt that she will continue to be a force to be reckoned with when she eventually makes her comeback.
Until then, I will continue to support her through her crowdfunding campaign and keep her in my thoughts and prayers as she undergoes treatment for her injuries.
Jungle Kyona may be taking a break from wrestling, but her spirit and passion for the industry will continue to inspire fans all around the world. We can't wait to see her back in the ring, stronger and better than ever before.
