I'm about to put the IWGP Women's Championship on the map. I'm about to take this title global.

Last night at the New Japan Pro Wrestling event in San Jose, I was on the edge of my seat as Mercedes Mone made her debut on the NJPW wrestling mat! As a fan of pro wrestling, it was a moment I had been waiting for, and boy did she deliver! Mone, formerly known as WWE superstar Sasha Banks, defeated Kairi, the current IWGP Women's Champion, and was crowned the second champion.
I couldn't believe it when Mone disappeared from the wrestling world due to a "walkout incident" at WWE last year, but seeing her back in action at the January 4th Tokyo Dome event was amazing! And now to see her in a new arena, with new challenges, was simply incredible.
Mone made a grand entrance with dancers and was introduced as "CEO". She moved to the ring with grace and confidence, showing no signs of rust from her time away. And when the match started, I could see that Mone was determined to win. She attacked Kairi's elbow to counter her signature move, the Insane Elbow, and the battle between the two was intense.
I was laughing out loud when Mone used the referee as a shield to block Kairi's Cutlass strikes. Talk about creative! And when she set up a table outside the ring, I thought she had it in the bag. But it backfired, and she was power bombed onto the table, putting her in dire straits.
But Mone did not give up. She intercepted Kairi's Insane Elbow with her foot and managed to avoid being caught in a face lock after her diving body press was stopped. The fight was intense, and in the end, Mone finished it off with her modified DDT, the Mone Maker.
As a fan, I was thrilled to see Mone win the Raw Women's Championship five times and the SmackDown Women's Championship once, but to see her add another new medal to her collection was truly special. Backstage, Mone looked relieved but still had an expression of extreme tension on her face. I couldn't help but laugh when she said, "I feel like I could throw up... this is everything that I want. This is everything that I've been working for since I was 10 years old. The dream to go to Japan, the dream to wrestle the best."
And when Mone spoke about her opponent, Kairi, I felt a sense of respect for her. She said, "Kairi gave me the absolute fight of my life. I mean, she snatched me pretty much bald. You exposed my hair, girl. You almost snatched this wig off. You snatched all my nails off on my left hand. You about smacked my face off, but I never gave up. Because I am not a quitter. I'm a money maker. I am Mercedes Mone. And I'm about to put the IWGP Women's Championship on the map. I'm about to take this title global. And New Japan Pro Wrestling, I mean, this is only just the beginning. Because the money changes everything."
With Mone as the new champion, the women's championship seems to be entering a new phase. As a female fan of pro wrestling, I feel proud to see a strong and determined woman like Mone taking the lead and paving the way for other women to follow in her footsteps. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future of women's wrestling!
