Saya Kamitani set her sights on a new dream after breaking the record for most title defenses

Saya Kamitani, the 26-year-old Wonder Champion of female pro wrestling organization 'Stardom,' has set her sights on a new dream after breaking the record for most title defenses.

On February 4th, she'll step into the ring at the Edion Arena Osaka event to face off against 'Black Peach' of the 'Oedo-tai' stable, who currently holds the record of 13 defenses. When Peach called Kamitani a shallow champion who is only focused on defense records and doesn't convey anything," Kamitani fired back with a fierce retort, "I want to leave a legend in my pro wrestling career, so what's wrong with aiming to be number one in defense records! I believe that there is meaning in fighting history to create the future. Momo is the wall that I must overcome!"

Kamitani's new record has given her a new goal: to reach professional wrestling to those who have never seen her as a champion. Last year, she helped raise the recognition of pro wrestling by participating in the debut match of popular YouTuber 'Fuwa-chan.'

But Kamitani's not content to just stop there. Her next move is to take pro wrestling to the streets, inspired by a video of Yuzu Aikawa challenging on the streets in 2013 in Tokyo's Asakusa. Kamitani said, "There's no one doing it in Stardom right now, and I think doing it on the streets will give people who just happen to pass by an opportunity to learn about pro wrestling. I actually have a fear of heights, but I think diving from high places like vending machines would become a topic."

Kamitani's got her sights set on gaining the title of "record holder for most title defenses" to attract even more attention. She's a fighter, a champion, and a trailblazer in the world of female pro wrestling. And she's just getting started.
