Stardom: Kamitani and Hazuki Journey to the Battle for the White Belt

Written by: Stacy T

The Wonder Champion of Stardom, Saya Kamitani, is in for the fight of her life as she faces off against her challenger Hazuki in the V15 match at Tokyo's Yoyogi National Gymnasium #2 on March 4th.

Their preliminary bout at the Wakayama Prefectural Gymnasium on the 25th was a fiery display of Kamitani's sparks, as she teamed up with Utami Hayashishita and AZM against Hazuki, Mayu Iwatani, and Koguma. The reigning champion and Hazuki, who have been ramping up their intensity with each preliminary match, engaged in another fierce battle, exchanging moves in a give-and-take ground game.

Hazuki had Kamitani in a crossface, but Kamitani countered with her signature flying knee kick. Hazuki gained the upper hand with her elbow battles and effective teamwork with Iwatani. In the last 30 seconds of the match, Hazuki executed a devastating vertical drop brainbuster on Kamitani. Although assisted by Utami, Kamitani couldn't mount a comeback before the final bell rang. After snatching the belt from Kamitani, Hazuki pinned her face down with her knee and stared her down.

Appearing backstage, Kamitani expressed her emotions in a state of complete exhaustion. "Some people retire after winning the white belt, while others like Hazuki come back and refuse to give up the white belt. This white belt is not enough, and I am not done yet!" she screamed defiantly.

The frustrated champion called out to Hazuki, "Come and crush me with all your might!" before disappearing into the locker room. The question remains: Who will ultimately claim the throne in this championship battle? Stay tuned to find out.
